John McNair has practiced law in Texas for 35 years. After building a successful Estate Planning practice, John applied his legal and financial expertise to clients in need of healthcare, focusing on Medicaid Planning, VA Pension Qualification and other Elder Law issues.
John is currently the only practicing attorney in Dallas County who has earned the National Elder Law Foundation’s Certified Elder Law Attorney designation.
John earned a Master of Tax Law degree from SMU and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from the University of Arkansas. John is a Board Certified Tax Law, Estate Planning and Probate attorney as well as a Certified Public Accountant. He is also an accredited attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
John is active in his community, serving as a Board Director for the Texas Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Board Member of the DFW Chapter of the National Placement & Referral Alliance, and Legal Advisor for the Dallas Area Gerontological Society. His practice also supports the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and the Adult Protective Services Community Board.
Based in Dallas, John speaks frequently to professional groups about VA Pension Benefits, Medicaid Planning, Wills, Trusts, Advance Directives and other Estate Planning and Elder Law topics.
Susan Rogers is the Community Liaison for Attorney John McNair. John is the only practicing attorney in Dallas County who has earned the National Elder Law Foundation’s Certified Elder Law Attorney designation. Susan focuses on building relationships with Senior Living Communities, Elder Care Agencies, Senior Service Organizations, and Elders and their families.
After earning a B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut and a M.S. degree in Gerontology from The University of North Texas, Susan spent over twenty years working closely with Elders and their families in Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing Facilities.
A long-time volunteer with the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, Susan has served as a Walk to End Alzheimer’s Chairperson, on various committees and boards, and as a speaker representing the Association. Susan currently serves on the Dallas County Adult Protective Services Community Board, as Program Chair for the DFW Chapter of the National Placement & Referral Alliance, and as Communications Chair of the Dallas Area Gerontological Society. Susan is also a member of the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas. Susan and her family volunteer frequently in memory care communities.
Susan’s education and experience make her an ideal speaker on any topic related to Seniors and Elder Care. Susan’s presentations are approved for Social Work Continuing Education.
